Hipsquare: Music

Hipsquare is my evolving separate creative space for all things related to music.

Now and again I delve into my limited-edition coloured vinyl collection for your listening pleasure, take some photos, do a blog and from selected tracks, build a virtual mix-tape of Spotify.

There is a lot of debate about the level of payment to artists from Spotify, but I’ve shelled out for the vinyl (sometime multiple versions) and go to gigs (50+ in 2024), buy t-shirts (many, many t-shirts!) so if this digital medium helps discover and break new and exciting acts and you do the same, then that’s fine with me.

It’s quite a broad church I think but if you hit a bit of a personal vibe-bump when listening to any track, you can skip over of course but do try and take the journey from Track 1 to the end, just like me, the artist and The God of Vinyl intended 🙏🏻 …don’t be that “I only like it because I’ve heard it before” person.
