About
Shaun Armstrong is a UK-based documentary photographer and abstract artist.
His creative practice stems from an ability to seek out and capture a fleeting moment, or see and observe an unseen aesthetic, or both.
After a successful cross-sector career, a lifelong interest in photography turned professional in 2009 until 2024 to focus on building image libraries for a diverse range of businesses and organisations to support their particular goals.
His work can be found in digital and printed media, websites, guidebooks, brochures, annual reports, fund-raising portfolios, display materials, advertising, published books and national media in the UK and abroad, alongside displays in Reception areas, Boardrooms and meeting spaces.
Following a period of reflection and ongoing research he is now developing a portfolio of personal projects and selected collaborative assignments that explore heritage, culture and community in more depth; from still and moving visuals, to audio, creative writing and artwork for display.
Away from photography, he is keen supporter of grass-roots music, collecting limited-edition indie-band debut vinyl releases and can be found regularly at small, independent-venue gigs catching the waves of rising artists and bands.
